At the moment there is no benefit as most perks do not work yet. Maybe the 1.1.0 patch will fix this, maybe it won't. The assumed use, when the perks work, is like the person above said: some skills have perks that have the text (governor) in them, meaning that these perks are active while the character is a governor.Governors primary use is to help accelerate a fiefs overall growth, and to help stabilize a town (if proper pairing conditions have been met). They aren't necessarily needed all the time, however with the right governor perks, they can help the growth, increase loyalty, prosperity, security..… and thus, pump out more deniers for you.
