Most of my games load instantly. BG3 however, my initial load into the game is like 45s to 1 minute. My re-loads are like 20-30s. This is extremely long in 2023, when most games have under 3s load times. It's also extremely bad in a game where you're expected to abuse quicksave.

It's not a GOG-specific issue; the problem was the hard drive being overwhelmed by lots of requests, forcing BG3 to wait. Assuming Windows, use Task Manager to check if the drive is hitting 100%. If so, you can use Disk Activity in the Resource Monitor to identify which applications are contributing.Saw an article recommending increasing RAM so I doubled my PC's 8GB RAM to 16GB and it launches and loads decently quickly now.
