robert43s 6 years ago #3. If you know how to play as a mystic knight, one of the most powerful builds is pure magick (mage then sorcerer til 200). I'm though, am rubbish as playing as a mystic knight (can't use the shield properly, I keep wanting to attack with the sword whilst blocking with the shield, which of course casts a spell instead).Never start as mage. Magick builds should start as a Strider because Mages 1-10 stat growths are pitiful particularlly stamina. While end-game gear can make up for weaker attack stats, it is much harder to compensate for low stamina, so it is definitely a good idea to start as a Strider to boost stamina growth as opposed to Mage, which has abysmal stats to start with.
Magic defense is probably the least important stat in Dragon's Dogma. Build HP instead if you want survivability. Warrior gets 5 strength per level (only 1 less than assassin), and the highest HP growth in the game.
