Duramax ticking noise

Nov 14, 2019 · Just traded my 2018 2500 Duramax for a new 2020 2500 L5P and notice a throbbing sound at idle when the engine is warmed up ( currently 2200km). Dealership says it is covered under the #16-NA-32 Bulletin on common engine noises Duramax 6.6L, but this is not the ticking or cycling that I have heard on my previous Duramax. .

I currently own a 2011 Duramax LML with around 500 miles. Since first taking delivery and continuing at 500 miles, I notice a howling noise whenever the engine is under load. It can be heard at almost any RPM, but seems most noticeable around 1200 to 2000 RPM. Pop-off pressures are (don't quote me on this) around 1300-1700lbs. for most diesel engines IIRC, so they can get a little noisy, especially when it's cold out. The ticking sound could be a number of things that have already been described, but the combination of ticking/chirping could be as simple as your belt and/or idler arm. I see you are in ND.
