I currently own a 2011 Duramax LML with around 500 miles. Since first taking delivery and continuing at 500 miles, I notice a howling noise whenever the engine is under load. It can be heard at almost any RPM, but seems most noticeable around 1200 to 2000 RPM. Pop-off pressures are (don't quote me on this) around 1300-1700lbs. for most diesel engines IIRC, so they can get a little noisy, especially when it's cold out. On the 2020 there are two belts now and the fan is by itself.
