e36 seats barely fit in an e30, they weigh a ton and if you slide your seat forwards you will hit the console or the door. e46 seats are even heavier and neither are as comfortable as e30 sport seats. cloth interior e30's are rare so i have a hard time believing you are finding many of them. e30 interior pieces aer not that hard to come by.Steel for the mounts: $35 - Need to slice and dice, bolts and washers, $10 drill and finish it. Probably 2 hours total of labor for both. Wiring harnesses: $160 - $80 for the M4 body harnesses (ebay) and another $25 for the e46 seat side connectors. In my experience, finding e46 sport seats in anything but black can be very difficult. And when you do, it's very common for the seat to be damaged anyway. I say get some reupholstering quotes.
