There are a few iterations of the b58 engine where they tweaked timing components and some other ancillary parts but they are all the b58 engine. in the f30 chassis they all have the same output. B58 + upgraded HPFP + ethanol sensor install wired into the canbus of dme (engine ecu with a zeitronix) and you have the ability to tune and dump all the e85 in you want with one tune basically. Choose MHD, ecutek, or bootmod3. I'd go b58 (closed deck) honestly just because it's newer tech and takes less to reach higher hp numbers.The BMW F-series B58 engine is found in a wide array of BMW vehicles (M140i, M240i, 340i, 440i).
