Firing order for 8n ford tractor

According to the specs the fireing order is 1-2-4-3 if Im not mistaken. The old 2n ran rough and missed so my son in law after tuneing it up with all new parts,found a thread somewhere where a fellow had a problem similar to ours and someone told him to use a fireing order of 1-2-3-4. Well my son in law tried it and the engine smoothed right ....

The #1 cylinder is at the FRONT of the engine, nearest the radiator.
