I searched the forum, and found several threads where the CC and CEL were flashing, and in each case there was a code. The only way to know what is causing the CEL is to read the codes. The cruise control flashing and becoming disabled is a feature of all late model Subaru's (as of 2004 or something like that) that is brought about any time your CEL comes on.
