Problem solved. James. in a year. 2008 Civic, 160k miles, wouldn't start. It seemed like the starter was dead. Bought this replacement at AutoZone, it was a perfect fit; very useful having the new one to use as reference (i.e. location of the holes for the mounting bolts, etc) while removing the old one. Returning the core was quick and simple too.
