I averaged about 52 mpg with my 750 Spirit, unless I increased my highway riding speed from 60-65 to 75 or so. Then my overall mileage dropped to around 44 mpg. I get about 40-42 mpg on my Tourer, but I don't ride 55-60 mph anymore. There are 3 filter used, 1 on petcock, 2 inline, 3 carb fuel inlet. Some bikes only have 1 or 2. 5 Check wiring between Stator and Rectifier for signs of overheating. Early shadow are prone to MELTING these wires and the rectifier. 6 valves are hydraulic, no adjusting.

I recently purchased a 2009 Honda Shadow Aero 750. The specs say the fuel tank capacity is 3.7 gallons. The reserve is .87 gallons. That leaves 2.83 gallons available before you have to hit the reserve. I assume that the 3.7 gallons is when the tank is filled to the top.
