Cummins isx normal oil pressure at idle
Oct 23, 2014 · Over the last few weeks I have noticed the oil pressure is running a little higher on my ISX. Last week I lost the oil sender for the ECM so I really started watching the gauge. It is running 50 at idle and 60 at 15-1600 rpm whereas it used to run 35 and 38 I have about 10k miles on this oil change.Just overhauled my Cummins isx 2016 in a KW T680, change oil pump and now when truck is idle oil pressure is 19 to 20, before with the old one was 26 to 30, is this normal or have to worry? when truck is running keeps 40 - 41 as always and runs great.

That seems abnormally low. i would expect to see idle psi in the 6500 psi range, low load low boost cruising in the 12000 psi range, 18k at road speed sounds normal. Idle a 700 is too low, that really should be 750 to 800 but if there is an issue with the tach like the 3rd gens had it might not be correct.According to the Cummins 5.9 service manual, the minimum acceptable oil pressure at idle is 10 PSI.
