There are 2 solenoids, one at the rear of the oil base pointing down--that is the piston cooling jet control solenoid. The other is nearly at the rear but pointing to the frame rail--that is the oil cooler thermostat solenoid. I am a newbe here from Cobourg Ontario Canada, Just purchased my first Mack a 2009 Pinnacle with a 72 inch bunk and an MP8 485 HP with a 13 speed fuller and 355 rears. I am looking for some info about the MP8 DPF system I am not familiar with the DPF.The 460's are good but are hit or miss, I've seen reliable ones and I've seen ones constantly broke down. The only new MP I've had experience with is the MP7 and it was full of electrical problems. Thats really all I can offer other than the Mack service/parts network leaves a lot to be desired. This issue often occurs in Mack MP8 trucks. It will help if you get an up-to-date engine oil pressure (EOP) sensor. If it is not the oil but the fuel that causes the limp mode, you can stalk the switch and pull the fuse connected to it. Then, follow the usual steps to deactivate the limp mode.
