Then in the but stock filled it with sylicon call in stages so it would completely dry and cure, then I capped it with about 1.5-2" od dev con to dampen the recoil a little. I think the wrist is a bit thin in many rifles, but the Patriot was ideal. Handling was good, and the rifle — a .30-06 example — was never uncomfortable to fire. The bolt-action was smooth in operation.
