Talking this episode are Darren Grey, Nicolas Casalini (aka DarkGod), Ben Morrison, Sean Osman, Eric Wykoff and Mikolai Fajer (all developers using the T-Engine).This is a concept that roguelike games take to heart, which makes them significantly more difficult than roguelites. You see, a roguelite often lacks a permadeath feature and, at the very least, allows you to carry progression over to the next cycle. A good example of this is Hades, as you get to power up different abilities and equip them, too. The loot is vastly simplified compared to Maj'Eyal, but just about any roguelike is going to have simpler itemization than Maj'Eyal. The classes are also a bit more DCSS-esque than they are ToME-esque, in that they have a larger impact at the start of a run and a lesser impact by the end. Reply.
